Shirley Jean, also known as the "Queen Mum", my loving mother. I have so many wonderful memories from my childhood days, well into my adult years. One, most important memory, never to be forgotten, was her values she placed on life. Mom always stressed," to mind your manners, pick and choose your friends carefully, to always look your best, and to remember the "Golden Rule". Setting the example, she stood beautifully among her circle of special friends, looking her very best. She respected my circle of friends and embraced my best friend-my husband, like a son, who too respects the standards of life she set. She always gave her very best. Her words of enouragement cannot be forgotten, they were endless. She was always there to pick me up and give hugs and kisses to make the hurt go away, for my first dance, my first love, even my first drivers license....I will forever remember her smile and all the grand times we shared.... Mom was always there.
