About
Silas
O'Brien died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday when the driver of a white truck that had earlier forced O'Brien's vehicle into a ditch suddenly returned. He was standing with two friends alongside his white Silverado pickup when the white truck accelerated at them.
The friends, Sam Dooley and Luke Stevens, managed to scramble clear, but O'Brien was struck and killed. The vehicle that hit him quickly fled the scene.
The young men had been on their way to the Vancouver airport for a trip to Hawaii.
Police have blamed severe road rage in the death.
Carr added that no other details will be released relating to the arrest until investigators can give the Crown a "very strong" package of evidence.
"Often times investigations are like a poker game," he said. "We don't want to put our cards on the table and show our hand at this time."
Langley RCMP Supt. Janice Armstrong said O'Brien's family is "still in shock and disbelief" over the tragic incident.
"They have really appreciated the outpouring of compassion and love from this community," she said.

I don't know you or Silas, but this tragedy has touched my heart. I have been crying despite not knowing you personally, and i can't imagine the loss you must be feeling.
I pray to God that he keeps giving you and your family the strenght to hold on strong and come to terms with your loss.
God will reward you for your patience and justice will prevail.

Family in Christ
Shari and my Callum (Church family in Victo (Mar 21, 2008)
I'm a more recent Christian, with a young son who loves the Lord, and we call him our 'little evangelist'. When he did see this on the news, and that his Mommy had tears in her eyes, this little guy (special needs) patted him Mommy's back, and said, 'Him with Jesus now... no worry'.
The faith of a child... and so, as the world watches the outcome of the this tragedy, here you are walking with the Lord, and if there be only 1 person turn to Christ, well you'll know that Silas will be with all the angels in Heaven, rejoicing.
May God continue to grant you the strength to deal with the earthly loss of Silas, and I pray that you all recall that even our Lord had tears in His eyes when He heard that Lazarus had died, and saw the grief of the people. Let your tears flow when they need to, even if there are enough to build a stairway to heaven... for one day, you will climb those very stairs, and be rejoicing the Lord with Silas.
For those of us unable to attend the services for young Silas, I hope when Mrs. O'Brien is able, that she might consider sharing the words of the song she wrote for her young son.
Bless you all, we will pray for you, and for the person that 'walks of the world' that needs to face up to his sin... May a seed be planted in this person's heart, and that God is now allowing it to root.
Peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you,
xox
